Overall Objective for the Experience

Participants will develop a comprehensive understanding of DCB’s family engagement philosophy, systems, and practices, and leave with concrete strategies, tools, and planning time to adapt and implement high-impact approaches within their own school communities.

Day 1

Understand DCB’s History, School Model & Approach: Gain insight into DCB’s history, mission, lead values, and core components that drive student success.

Deepen Family Engagement knowledge: Participants will build foundational knowledge of DCB’s family engagement model by exploring its history, guiding principles, and ecosystem, gaining clarity on how structures, relationships, and systems work together to support strong school-family partnerships.

Day 2

Exploring communication & academic connections: Participants will deepen their understanding of how family engagement operates in practice through communication systems, academic alignment, and community-based initiatives.

Reflect on the learning & plan: Use the mindsets and tools of the DCB approach and identify specific aspects of your family engagement & communication systems you want to strengthen;  create an initial roadmap with clear goals, defined roles, and next steps for your school.
