Michael Riley is the Owner and Principal Consultant of Sage & Still LLC, a Washington, DC based advisory firm focused on transportation, commercial strategy, and operational leadership. He brings more than two decades of experience leading complex public and private sector systems serving children, families, and vulnerable populations.  

After military service in the US Navy and Army National Guard, Michael began his career in Louisiana serving in nonprofit, government, and operational leadership roles, including work with Volunteers of America and the Baton Rouge Mayor President’s Office. He later led statewide operational teams for Allied Universal before transitioning into executive leadership within student transportation and education systems.  Most recently, he served as Director and Assistant State Superintendent at the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) directing the District’s $135 million student transportation system supporting thousands of students and families across Washington, DC.  Michael holds a Master of Arts in Christian Apologetics, an MBA in General Management, and a Certificate in Education Finance from Georgetown University.

He was drawn to DC Bilingual Public Charter School because of its commitment to bilingual education, belonging, cultural dignity, and whole child development, values closely aligned with his belief that strong communities are built through educational opportunity, relational trust, and service rooted in human dignity.
